Garment Care
Cotton has been used to make baby clothes for centuries and has withstood the test of time. All our garments are made from 100% organic cotton for softness, breathability and comfort. Cotton is naturally easy to care for, but following our care instructions will keep your baby's clothes looking their best for longer.
Our care label instructions
- Machine wash in cold or warm water (<40°C).
- Line dry (preferably) or tumble dry on low if required.
- Do not soak, bleach or use fabric softeners.
- Iron on low if you wish to.
Machine wash in cold or warm water (up to a maximum of 40°C) using an environmentally friendly laundry detergent. We recommend Ecostore Ultra Sensitive Laundry liquid. It is best to wash with similar fabrics and colours.
Air drying is gentler on your clothes and the environment. As much as possible, hang to line dry. Tumble drying on low heat is also fine.
Although line drying is better for the environment, sometimes it can leave cotton fabrics feeling a little stiff temporarily. To restore softness, gently stretch the fabric width-wise and length-wise a few times, steam with a garment steamer or tumble dry for two minutes.
It's best not to soak clothes for extended periods or use harsh chemicals such as bleach or fabric softeners.
When your little one has outgrown their clothes, you may like to consider donating them to Littlemore NZ. They are a lovely kiwi charity who provide families with baby clothes and other essential baby items needed to nurture their newborns & babies. They accept donations of quality baby clothes in good condition from newborn to size 1. If you are in Auckland, donations can be dropped off in Grey Lynn. They also accept donations by post. Please email us if you would like a free shipping label to send your donations or for more information, please see the Littlemore website.
